This page is a bit heavy with graphics, please be patient while all pictures download. Mostly, they are worth looking at.

High Hollow Farm consists of 20 acres bordering a state forest. We are very isolated and enjoy almost complete privacy. About 7 acres are open and the rest is forested with trails leading into the deeper woods which border the property. A pond with a high stone wall is perfect for summer swimming and diving.

The "Farm" consists mainly of raising vegetables and fruit. We have a very nice blueberry patch with 7 different varieties that produces from mid July to mid September. We allow "pick your own" on an appointment basis. We also have red raspberries, black raspberries and golden raspberries and, with the different varieties, they produce from mid July well into October! Our asparagus patch is a treat reserved for ourselves and close friends only! In addition to our vegetable and herb gardens, we have many fruit trees including: several varieties of apple, pears, peaches, nectarines, sweet and sour cherries, European and Japanese plums, nuts, quinces and apricots. We also have several varieties of grapes.

The house currently has 5 official bedrooms with other rooms which can serve as auxiliary bedrooms if needed. We run a small, private B&B and have had many guests from all over the world. The "Honeymoon Suite" is the largest room on the old side of the house and is usually our prime visitor room. The Blueberry room, Orchard room and Maple room are also in the old side of the house. The old side also has a bathroom and features a very quaint dining room with large brick fireplace. This room is the original structure dating back to pre-1770. A modern kitchen stands in place of the old woodshed and a new addition has been added to the back of the kitchen consisting of a large living room, bathroom with large, in ground hot tub, and large bedroom upstairs for our use. This room has skylights, a half bath and a glass enclosed sitting room which views the property.

Outside, there is a detached barn, two car garage, tool shed and Joann's studio (former chicken shed). We have built a very large, wrap around, colonial style porch which has several sitting areas and leads, via a deck used for private sunbathing and parties, to the gazebo. The second story of the gazebo is used as a weight room and party room! Seven acres of the property are fenced with a picket fence in front and stone walls along most of the rest of the perimeter. The old root cellar can clearly be seen through the dining room window, located in the face of a rock outcropping. Many stone lined, hand dug wells are found on the property. It is easy to get lost in the serenity on a beautiful summer day and just walk around the yard enjoying nature, the many sitting areas, hammocks and benches located throughout the property. Or, relax in the serene surroundings of the old boneyard. Don't forget to "graze" on all of the fine food growing along the way!

By the way, don't bother to wash your car to come here. We are located on dirt roads (helps keep the curiosity seekers away!). One can enjoy long walks on the back roads and along abandoned railroad tracks and along power lines without ever seeing anyone else! Or, walk through the forest, but don't get lost! Keep your eyes open for the abundance of wildlife. Birds include many hawks and other birds of prey, songbirds, grouse, turkeys, hummingbirds, etc. Wildlife includes beaver, raccoons, foxes, deer, fisher, squirrels, chipmunks and other assorted creatures. Occasionally, we even get to see a stray moose or black bear. There are also large cats in the woods, including lynx and possibly an occasional mountain lion (at least we think we heard one screaming one night a few years ago). There are several horse farms located nearby and riding as well as carriage rides can be arranged. Two local farms raise beautiful draft horse teams - there is nothing finer than a horse drawn carriage ride through the woods in the crisp autumn air.
